Majolica Majorca Holiday Collection 2010

Photo and info Source

Majolica Majorca is a brand I trust when it comes to mascara.
For the holiday 2010 collection, they came up with a rather small collection as opposed to the previous holiday collections they've churned out in the past.

What excites me most is the red Lash Gorgeous Wing Neo mascara, it's perfect for the festive season! ^.^
The MajoRomantica perfume bottle looks small but elegant
The nail polish is a bit blah though =(

According to Haru the collection will be released early this October in Japan.

My Taiwan Mini Haul

Here's my small Taiwan mini-haul, I call this mini because it's nothing comparable to the haul I got in Hong Kong this January. My Taiwan trip was mainly searching for plastic wares and food processing machineries so it's understandable there's very little time to shop around.

Nevertheless I'd like to share these brands and items with you in case you're going to Taiwan, you'd be more familiar with the products and brands there. ^.^
I got these from a friendly neighborhood hypermart Tsia Le Fu or Carrefour, PoYa and Jmart that's located in a wet market. Did I get anything from Watson's? =/ No I don't think so...
I'd be creating a different post on where to find beauty stuffs in Shu Lin, Taipei County, Taiwan ^.^

First on the list are Neutrogena oil free Acne Stress Control Power Foam Wash and Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner.
Neutrogena products are scattered everywhere and I got these from Carrefour.

These are from PoYa
I originally got two boxes of Nexcare acne care (the peach colored boxes) and surprise surprise it was on a promo! Buy a set and you'll get another box for free. Sweet deal ^.^

I wanted to try My Beauty Diary Face masks first before buying a whole big box, luckily I found out there are smaller boxes with 2 mask sheets inside so this is a pretty pragmatic deal for me too
I got these from Jmart.

Due to my cousin's ravings I got Biore Cleansing Gel, I got this from PoYa
I love that it removes makeup instantly but if I have extra strong mascara AKA Majolica Majorca so I need the aid of cleansing oil or Etude House Mascara Remover One Shot Clean

My Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock with SPF 30 is almost running out. I wanted to buy the same sunblock in Taiwan but I find the prices jacked up compared to the Philippines. I think I got my bottle for Php400+ but in Taiwan you'd get it for NT$400+ too! That's roughly around Php600+

So I got Biore instead, I'm not sure if this is lightweight like Neutrogena but it might be worth a try too! I got this at Carrefour.

I got this cute fruit nail art at Jmart for NT$59!

Here's a close up
There's apple, orange, watermelon, kiwi, dragon fruit, strawberry and so much more! ^.^
This is a breather from the usual gemstone nail art I always see... I'm not much of a nail polish person but this is too cute I have to get one when I'm in the nail polish mood.

Perhaps the only thing I can consider as makeup from my haul is Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Volume Mascara I got from PoYa =p
This is the latest mascara released by Majolica Majorca for their Spring 2010 collection.

Mentholatum Acnes Medicated Sealing Jell I got from Carrefour is a lil bit of a disappointment for me considering their creamy medicated facial wash works wonders drying up my zits but nevertheless the Jell works slowly but surely in drying my zits up ^.^

My aunt from Taiwan gave me this fringe clip, it's actually my cousin's spare fringe clip she got for free when she bought Mod's volumizing shampoo. They gave it to me so I could save a few NT$ because it's around NT$30-40 in Jmart.

Here's a close up; I'm not sure if you're familiar with this one but you use this to aid reshaping your side swept bangs when you're blow drying your hair. You clip this on your fringe and blow dry your hair so there are a lot of holes in this clip and the shape is curled inward. I have stiff straight bangs that go awry sometimes so this is a great aid for me.

Majolica Majorca Honey Pump Gloss in BE211

I've been neglecting my glosses and opted to swipe on lipsticks most of the time now but today I'm going to revisit my lip gloss lovin' days.

I've been using lip gloss since 10 years old and now I'm 20 going 21 this year so it's almost 11 years of dabbing lip gloss. Whew! It makes me feel so old =p

My version of Majolica Majorca's Honey Pump Gloss is the second generation and it's pure love.

I got this from Bon of wehaveit43.mulitply.com as GWP because I don't know how much I've spent already shopping on her online shop, I do know but I'm in denial; I don't wanna acknowledge and say it out because I might faint but it's all worth it haha. However Bon sells this for Php 250, pretty cheap for a nice Japanese lip gloss.

This is in BE211 which is the beige color. This is my first nude lip gloss and it's right on time because summer is here in the Philippines. I've been reading Japanese Magazines and going for nude lips this summer is the craze!

I used to hate nude lips because it makes me look so pale and unhealthy but hey that's not true. You just have to take cues on how to wear nude lips and it will look simply beautiful.

Here's how the applicator looks. Most of the tube lip gloss have the slanted type of applicator but Majolica Majorca Honey Pump Gloss has a round applicator which glides smoothly on the contours of my lips.

Majolica Majorca Honey Pump Gloss in BE211 swatch

I admit I'm afraid of using plumping lip gloss because I heard it stings. I don't know how the plumping effect  fares for Majolica Majorca though =p

The color looks solid in here but it looks very sheer on the lips- it just adds a tinge of nude color which is the whole point of sporting nude lips.

Here's how it looks spread on. If you'll check closely you'll see bits of shimmer.
What's remarkable in the shimmer is that it will stay put even after a long way of no retouch.
The gloss texture is smooth despite the glitters and yet the consistency is very sticky- comparable to my Shiseido Primalise Gloss.

Aah... Look how the gloss reflects the light. It looks lovely! <3
Now I think I'm going back to lip gloss for a while...

It was a bittersweet moment for all of us
We're happy that we're done and we're ready to embark to the next journey of our lives

I'm sad I didn't graduate with my other block mates and friends (same sentiment with Abi haha)
But at least we got through college together though we're colleges apart.

Fixing my tassel in this pic, I think =p I just had this funny expression haha

Wedding Reception Look

Tonight we went to a client's wedding and lucky for a slowpoke like me I had the time during the day to prepare.
I used to curl my hair on a daily basis with a curling iron, I know that's bad so I stopped so I had a bit of difficulty now doing my hair, but I still did!

I don't know why but the camera just doesn't want to show the eyeshadow I have on; all the color is very pale and washed out, I was using Shu Uemura RD 165 lipstick (and it's a MAC Red lipstick dupe) and yet it still looks so pale in the pic. Haha!

Here's a run down of the products I've used:

Face:
BRTC BB cream
Kanebo Media powder
Shu Uemura Pro Cealer in 3 YR Medium Light

Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
MAC eyeshadow in Amberlights

How to Remove Majolica Majorca Painlessly!

Eureka! I found a nice and painless solution on how to remove the Majolica Majorca mascara. I just experimented with my cleansing oil and it is a no brainer method actually, I’m just too excited to share it with you girls. =p

Before taking a shower, I usually do not remove my make-up first; I just remove it after because warm water and steam would melt the formula so it would not be such a pain to remove even waterproof mascara. With Majolica Majorca, this warm water and steam method does not work and I have to use cleansing oil to rub my eyes.

My peepers are happy about this!

Tonight though, I revised my “ritual”. I placed a bit of Kose cleansing oil on my tiny fingertip and swipe the oil on my lashes in the direction you would usually do when applying mascara. I prefer using my fingertip but if you would like to use a spoolie that is okay too. I just find using a spoolie eats up more oil and it goes wasted. I just coat my lashes with a thin film of cleansing oil and I continue my warm water and steam method. Eureka! When I step out of the shower I am very happy to see a pair of raccoon eyes in the mirror, haha! When I examined my lashes the mascara formula is almost gone so I just have to remove my eye shadow which is not much of a pain to do.

I prefer this method because first it is very painless and it lessens the deepening of my fine lines, second when I coat my lashes with cleansing oil, it does not usually go straight to my eyes so chances of the oil emulsifying in your eyes is also diminished.
I’m going to do this from now on! =)

Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus

Here it is! The much anticipated Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus mascara is in my paws.

I got the description from Airvony's online shop:
Leaves a never before seen impact!

"Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus"

This is the 3rd generation of Majolica Majorca Lash Expander. Lashes are covered in a super lengthening liquid base that gives you 1.5x longer lashes with great intensity joined with a framing eyeliner effect. Its improved formula is formulated with the world’s first jet black fibers and works together with a new coil and comb technology on the brush. This waterproof mascara ensures that you get sky high lashes! Perspiration, oil, tear and water proof.

Length ***
Thickness **
Density **

My Review:
The packaging is awesome! It is like a tamed down Jill Stuart but it is very pretty nonetheless. In my experience today the packaging does not get scratches easily so it is a good plus point for me. The spider web pattern is very sophisticated in my opinion. What is very unique about this is the cap or wand, if you would look at the picture below the top of the wand has the Majolica Majorca logo on it and it is indeed majestic.

The wand is a lot like my Etude House 66 Big Eye Vitcara; it’s a comb type of brush which works very well with my small chinky eyes. What’s interesting here is that the formula has small lash-like fibers and you could see it on the comb.
Does it work? Yes it does! The first side I apply is the straight side of the wand to apply the mascara on my lashes then I use the curved side to comb it out, what I notice is that whenever I’m using the curved side, that is the time when the lash-like fibers gets attached to the tip of my lashes and you have to be meticulous in combing it out. This is like hair extensions for your lashes haha!
Tip: Try to have a clean spoolie on hand so you can clean your lashes up once you're done attaching the fibers. Don't worry! The fibers attach itself very efficiently.

The formula is liquid like instead of clumpy and clay-like, sometimes you have to wipe the excess formula from the wand but it is natural since this is freshly opened mascara. Upon combing the formula on my lashes, gosh it goes on smoothly and it dries quicker than Etude House 66 Big Eye Vitcara but it gives you ample time to coat and fortify your lashes before it dries so this is not clumpy at all!

My lashes was really lengthened that my problem now is how to shorten it so the formula would not smear on my lids haha! I really have short sparse lashes and this really made my day, I feel like a cute doll with long lashes. If you'll look at the photo above you might think there's not much of a big difference but that's because I used a camera phone for this one and not much detail is captured but in real life this is amazing. I have not encountered any mascara that could brighten up my eyes like this one does. So yes I think I found my Holy Grail. I call this the steroid to my lashes.

The volumizing power of this one is pretty weak but I am satisfied that it blackens and darkens my lashes; it does plump my lashes up but only to a certain degree but for me it is perfect for a natural everyday look. The curl stays up all day and it won’t budge even if I splashed my face with water.

However, here’s the problem; I usually remove my make-up after taking a hot shower because the steam and warm water melts mascara formulas and this method makes it easier for me to remove it with a make-up remover without having to tug my skin. In this case, it is very hard to remove even after a warm bath. I have to use my Etude House mascara remover which I suspect has a blend of cleansing oil so I think that the solution to a painless way to remove this is using cleansing oil. The down side is I do not like it when the oil gets into my eyes and emulsifies because it turns milky white, it does not sting my eyes but I rinse it immediately still to prevent harm to my eyes.

On the picture above, you'll see that I have highlighted the 320 yuan or NT$320 because that is just how much it costs in Taiwan. I firmly believe I should not pay so much if I am going to have a drugstore brand imported so yup I got it for a bargain. Another thing I would like to explain in the picture is the Chinese label of the product. On the left we have the Japanese label and instructions on how to use the wand and on the right we have the Chinese version of it, again, I find this very consumer friendly for the Taiwanese market. Here in the Philippines we also have this especially on imported food products with non-English labels on it, only we label it in English.

Yesterday I was really excited to get my Majolica Majorca and I tried it, I took videos of it and captured it in my laptop so I can capture the frames and make it into pictures but the quality isn’t really the same when I’m using Windows as opposed to the times I was using Mac so I got frustrated and I asked my boyfriend if he could bring his Nikon DSLR along today so I can take some photos. I have a SLR but it is an analog one, it takes great photos and the color is very vivid but it is quite impractical to shoot, develop the photos and scan it into the computer haha.

I was trigger happy so took a lot of photos and here's the last photo of the MM mascara. Thanks to my boyfriend who also took a couple of shots! =)

The Shiseido Majolica Majorca Haul!

My Genders professor dismissed us early so I was really excited to rush to Wang Lai's Mart. I was supposed to pick up my Majolica Majorca tomorrow Tuesday but since I was given the opportunity to get it today, I seized the day!

The weather is really cool and the breeze is just refreshing tonight so my boyfriend and I went to Wang Lai Mart instead of waiting tomorrow.

I got the two Lash Expander Frame Plus for Php 650 and the Honey Pump Gloss (Php 250) is a freebie! Thanks so much to Ms. Airvony! =) I did not really expect to have another freebie since she gave me a lot of freebies on my last BB cream purchase ^.^

I'll be making a review on the much coveted mascara tomorrow and we'll see how it works for my lashes and in our humid Philippine weather. For now I have to rush and study Michel Foucault's works on Power, I have a quiz tomorrow! ^.^

P.S. The mascara costs a lot cheaper than sellers who sell it at Php900+ but I guarantee you this is authentic! =) It just costs NT$320 in Watsons Taiwan.
