Mentholatum Acnes Medicated Sealing Jell

Another leg of the Mentholatum Acnes product line review! ^.^
This is Mentholatum Acnes Medicated Sealing Jell

This is a spot treatment for acnes, it looks almost the same like it's facial wash counterpart
It also smells the same lemony lime with a hint of mint that's actually a refreshing smell this summer ^.^

Here's how it looks like

Upon applying this on my zits, it feels cool and refreshing. It's not so minty but cool and refreshing would do well =p
I noticed that this doesn't work well alone but it works effectively when paired with other anti acne products.
I use the Mentholatum Acnes Medicated Creamy Wash then I dab my face with Shiseido Acne Lotion and top it off with the Sealing Jell before I go to sleep. The next morning you'll see your acne drastically smaller and drier <3

Just don't apply so much especially in the morning when you're preparing to go out because excess Sealing Jell will flake when dry. Just dab a bit, let it dry and do your makeup. This doesn't feel greasy or heavy at all; it's as if you didn't apply any ointment at all!

I'm glad I bought a back up =p

I found another Mentholatum Acnes commercial
This time it's a Korean version
I'm not sure why the Sealing Jell looks off white in this commercial while it's really light green in reality.
Perhaps the white balance in the camera was adjusted as you can notice the overall film tone is pretty squeaky clean and white, the endorser's skin and white clothes are really really white!
Anyhoo, enjoy! <3

Mentholatum Acnes Medicated Creamy Wash

As promised here's a review of Mentholatum Acnes Medicated Creamy Wash ^.^
As much as I'd like to give you product details in English, I can't because the product details are in Chinese
But I've been using the tube for several months so this review might be ample already.
I got my Mentholatum Acnes Medicated Creamy Wash in Taiwan when my mother and little brother visited my aunt there approximately a year ago... Then earlier this year around January we went to Hong Kong and we bought tons of these again. Just a distant past we went to Taiwan and bought tons of these again =p
Here's how it looks like when squeezed from the tube; it's light green in color
The consistency is smooth, heavy cream on my hand; it feels luxurious actually
The creamy wash smells like lemony lime with a hint of mint although the slight menthol scent doesn't translate to a cool tingling sensation.

Here's how it looks lathered on; although it doesn't look foamy and blown up like the one on the Japanese commercial below.

On my first few washes I noticed my zits are drying up faster! At one point my forehead was almost free of zits but as I used this more often, my skin became 'immune' so to speak, I get a few zits every now and then but the facial wash still does it's job on drying up zits faster.
I don't know, this might just be my own skin condition, who knows, this creamy facial wash might work better for you <3
On the down side it makes my skin dry but that's easy to cure in this humid country.

I found the cute Mentholatum Acnes commercial on Youtube, hope you enjoy this too!
The commercial is in Japanese but there's some Chinese subtitles below.
I first saw this commercial on TTV, a Taiwanese channel that's locally available in the Philippines,  TTV often broadcasts Hong Kong films dubbed in Mandarin.

My Taiwan Mini Haul

Here's my small Taiwan mini-haul, I call this mini because it's nothing comparable to the haul I got in Hong Kong this January. My Taiwan trip was mainly searching for plastic wares and food processing machineries so it's understandable there's very little time to shop around.

Nevertheless I'd like to share these brands and items with you in case you're going to Taiwan, you'd be more familiar with the products and brands there. ^.^
I got these from a friendly neighborhood hypermart Tsia Le Fu or Carrefour, PoYa and Jmart that's located in a wet market. Did I get anything from Watson's? =/ No I don't think so...
I'd be creating a different post on where to find beauty stuffs in Shu Lin, Taipei County, Taiwan ^.^

First on the list are Neutrogena oil free Acne Stress Control Power Foam Wash and Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner.
Neutrogena products are scattered everywhere and I got these from Carrefour.

These are from PoYa
I originally got two boxes of Nexcare acne care (the peach colored boxes) and surprise surprise it was on a promo! Buy a set and you'll get another box for free. Sweet deal ^.^

I wanted to try My Beauty Diary Face masks first before buying a whole big box, luckily I found out there are smaller boxes with 2 mask sheets inside so this is a pretty pragmatic deal for me too
I got these from Jmart.

Due to my cousin's ravings I got Biore Cleansing Gel, I got this from PoYa
I love that it removes makeup instantly but if I have extra strong mascara AKA Majolica Majorca so I need the aid of cleansing oil or Etude House Mascara Remover One Shot Clean

My Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock with SPF 30 is almost running out. I wanted to buy the same sunblock in Taiwan but I find the prices jacked up compared to the Philippines. I think I got my bottle for Php400+ but in Taiwan you'd get it for NT$400+ too! That's roughly around Php600+

So I got Biore instead, I'm not sure if this is lightweight like Neutrogena but it might be worth a try too! I got this at Carrefour.

I got this cute fruit nail art at Jmart for NT$59!

Here's a close up
There's apple, orange, watermelon, kiwi, dragon fruit, strawberry and so much more! ^.^
This is a breather from the usual gemstone nail art I always see... I'm not much of a nail polish person but this is too cute I have to get one when I'm in the nail polish mood.

Perhaps the only thing I can consider as makeup from my haul is Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Volume Mascara I got from PoYa =p
This is the latest mascara released by Majolica Majorca for their Spring 2010 collection.

Mentholatum Acnes Medicated Sealing Jell I got from Carrefour is a lil bit of a disappointment for me considering their creamy medicated facial wash works wonders drying up my zits but nevertheless the Jell works slowly but surely in drying my zits up ^.^

My aunt from Taiwan gave me this fringe clip, it's actually my cousin's spare fringe clip she got for free when she bought Mod's volumizing shampoo. They gave it to me so I could save a few NT$ because it's around NT$30-40 in Jmart.

Here's a close up; I'm not sure if you're familiar with this one but you use this to aid reshaping your side swept bangs when you're blow drying your hair. You clip this on your fringe and blow dry your hair so there are a lot of holes in this clip and the shape is curled inward. I have stiff straight bangs that go awry sometimes so this is a great aid for me.

Hong Kong Haul Preview

I'm back! And with me are the hauls I got from Hong Kong.

I primarily love Hong Kong for their super delicious siu ngo or roasted goose; others call it Peking Duck but siu ngo is totally different from duck and there's no direct translation to siu ngo, if you want to taste better Peking Duck just tell them Siu Ngo and they'll give you goose instead of duck, dip it in plum sauce and it's gonna be heaven. I also love La-a po which is salted or daing duck rice in hot pot; the aroma is like heaven! I love eating the burnt rice sticked to the pot because it's the tastiest part of the meal, just poke your chopstick on the pot and mix tutong with the rice simmered in La-a's aroma. La-a tastes the best in winter season because it needs to be dried in a naturally cool temperature. Enough of this food talk I'm getting hungry again!

Don't be fooled though, I'm not rich haha! I know the haul looks crazy but some of it are freebie such as the Lola by Marc Jacobs make up pouch from Spring Magazine- a nice Hong Kong lady who's selling magazines on the streets told me (translation courtesy of my father who didn't teach me to speak Cantonese huhu) a lot of young Hong Kong women are finding magazines with the Marc Jacobs pouch and she just has one copy left. I didn't pick it up. I got this one from the Hong Kong International Airport.

Most of the high end products you see I got it for a bargain; most of it are half the price here in the Philippines. Where in the Philippines would you see boxes of Lancome products sold on the streets? Sasa, Colour Mix and Bonjour does display them on the streets.  I got Lancome eye make up remover, Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil and Kiehl's in Colour Mix.

I love going to Hong Kong Disneyland because it's near and I don't have to walk a lot to enjoy the theme park. Usually I don't buy souvenirs from Hong Kong Disneyland unless it is something useful so I got three adorable hair accessory and a make up pouch that's very sexy (it's in lace!) ^.^

Oh I forgot to include one of my prized possession now, MAC eye shadow in Goldmine, hihi! ^.^ I was looking for this for a long long time I even bought her sister Amber Lights just to soothe my lemming for this one. MAC Philippines doesn't carry Goldmine because it was released as a part of their Limited Edition line but I know it's really not LE and I was very happy Hong Kong carries Goldmine in their regular line. I hauled a bit from MAC because their MAC is cheaper than ours, 187 stippling brush is cheaper by Php600+. Sweet sweet bargain for me ^.^
