Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Queen

Since my favorite lipstick YSL Rouge Volupte in Rose Paris was *gasp* discontinued, I've tried searching for a lip color that's pretty near that beautiful pink coral color.

I chanced upon Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar and thought that I should give it a try. I got the Queen first, it is described as a  neon red coral shade. It looks so gorgeous on a lot of bloggers who have reviewed it!

Unlike the previous OCC lip tars I've seen with the applicator tip, this comes in a thin narrow tube opening. The instruction is that you need to use the lip brush that comes with the lip tar, place a small bead of lip tar on the brush and apply it on your lips. Be careful with the amount though! A little goes a long way as this packs a punch.

Here is a swatch of the OCC lip tar in Queen, I just placed a small bead on my arm, spread it around and it's still quite a lot of pigment staining my fingers like crazy lol. The color is a beautifully bright red coral shade that looks accurate on most reviews. I usually wear this with light eye make up just to keep things balanced because this comes out really strong on my face.

The brush that comes with the lip tar has superb quality. Most of the time, brushes that are included in make up sets are just meh or so so but this one's great. It's a tiny brush but the bristles are firm and soft. Perfect for painting your lips with the lip tar.

OCC lip tar in Queen doesn't come super close to YSL Rouge Volupte in Rose Paris, but I am very very happy with my purchase because a little goes a long way, it saves me a lot of money by not reapplying the lipstick over and over again throughout the day, the color pay off is just as powerful as YSL at a fraction of a price. I'm waiting for my OCC Lip tar in Trollop to arrive, I'm crossing my fingers it will come close to Rose Paris. If not, I can just mix Queen and Trollop to get the shade I want!

YSL Rouge Volupte in Rose Paris Review and Swatch

When I first laid my eyes on YSL Rouge Volupte, I knew I just have to grab one. Anything gold is my weakness and a gold lipstick tube is a surefire way to make my knees go weak.

I was a bit heart broken when I found out YSL pulled out of the Philippine market for quite some time now so I get my lipstick via pre-order websites. I bought this particular tube from Carefreeshopper during the Sephora 10% off sale so I got this at Php1800. I've been buying things from Ms. Armie's site for quite some time now and I must say she offers hassle free transaction. Your products arrive safe and sound.

YSL Rouge Volupte no. 27 Rose Paris Swatch

My favorite shade is no. 27 Rose Paris. It's a bright pinky coral color that complements my pale skin tone, I think the pink coral shade brightens my skin tone without looking pale or pasty, it gives me a nice healthy glow. This is my HG lipstick.

Texture wise this is on the creamy-slippery side so what I do is just pat it on my lips and pucker up. The color packs a punch, it's a very solid color on the lips so a little goes a long long way unless you really want to achieve a bold lip color. Staying power wise it is amazing, I don't think any other lipstick is at par with this because the color does not fade away even when I eat, as long as I don't apply a lot of lip balm or gloss, the lipstick will stay on it's own for a long long time. The only down side is that it can be quite drying after a few hours but a light coat of lip balm could easily seal the deal.

My Lippie Collection

I haven't blogged for a looong time!
It feels refreshing to do this again, I'm just warming up for a bit.

For now I'll post my ever growing lip product collection, from lip balms, to lipsticks to lip glosses.
I still have a handful in their boxes (meaning I haven't used them yet)

P.S. I have removed other lip products I am not using.

Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in 75 Dragon

Vavavoom! This is one of the perfect red lipstick I've encountered!
I got this Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in 75 Dragon from Martha for Php1000, sweet deal!^.^
This retails for Php1895 in Rustan's

I often see reviews and photos about Rouge Allure Laque but I rarely see the top Chanel logo, I was surprised to see the logo when I opened the box!

Here's how it looks on the doe foot applicator. I love the black glass tube, it contributes to Dragon's vibrancy! The glass tube is really classy but you have to take good care of this one, you can't use this when you're in a hurry or else you might accidentally drop it. Also, try to wipe the tube off with a clean cloth after use because it's a fingerprint magnet =p

Here's my Chanel Rouge Allure Laque 75 Dragon swatch

On me, Dragon looks a bit darker than my Shu Uemura RD170 but it's a beautiful stunning solid shade of blood red. It makes my skin whiter with a healthy glow- not white ghostly pale.
I was surprised with the lightweight texture, it doesn't feel as heavy as it looks. It is one of the better lipstick formula out there in the market, it looks so pigmented and yet it's feather light to wear.

Although I really really love the color and the formula, sometimes I find the lipstick transferring to my teeth =/ I really have to be careful using this. It lasts a good time and when it fades, it leaves a nice red stain just like my Shu Uemura RD170.

After testing Chanel Rouge Allure Laque, I can say this is one of the best lip product I've tried and it really makes me want to purchase Mandarin (reddish coral) and Phoenix (pink)! ^.^
Oh wait, my cousin Shirley just purchased me a handful of lipstick from Sephora! Hmmm... Chanel would have to take a back seat for a while ^.^

I'm Lemming for Chanel Rouge Allure Laque Phoenix and Mandarin

Oh no! I'm lemming for these pretty babies...
Hello wallet, are you still alive? Can you make it?
I wanna get Phoenix which is a pretty and sexy shade of pink and Mandarin which is more of a reddish coral color.

Love it? Leave it? I want 'em all! <3
But I need to control...

FOTD: Simply Primped and Polished

This would be one of the rarest times Maquillage Lover puts up an FOTD!
After doing this makeup I felt it looks simple and yet pretty so I'd like to share this with you.

Japanese make up makes the prettiest sheer color;
it gives an illusion as if you're wearing almost nothing at all but you look so primp and polish with just a light touch of color here and there.
Just the way I like my makeup! Not too over done with shocking colors but not too bare that my eye bags are saying hello to the world!
I made this FOTD last Sunday before going out.

Here's the product lineup:
Shiseido eyelash curler, Taiwan version
Shu Uemura Pro Concealer
UDPP in Eden
Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus
Jill Stuart Jewel Crystal Eyes in Princess Sapphire
Jill Stuart Eye Jelly in Midnight Shine

Jill Stuart lipstick in Baby Coral
Shiseido PN Primalise Gloss
Kiehl's lip balm #1

Jill Stuart Moist Silk Liquid Foundation
Benefit 10
Jill Stuart Mix Blush in Fresh Apricot

Singapore Anna Sui and Benefit Price List Help!

Hi gals! I'm trying to scour the net for Anna Sui and Benefit Singapore price list but I can't seem to find much info on the:
Anna Sui Protective Fluid Foundation L
I found out that the Moisture Liquid Foundation costs SG$61
Then I checked Anna Sui Japan's website if there's any price difference between Moisture Foundie and the Protective Fluid Foundie and there's none- both are priced the same in Yen.
I'm assuming the Protective Fluid Foundation costs SG$61

Although, I found out that:
Anna Sui Face Color Accent costs SG$41

Anna Sui Lip Rouge Dazzle lippies costs SG$40

Benefit CORALista costs SG$52

I'm just not sure if I have the correct or updated price list but if you'd know the correct or updated one you can help by sharing the info with me and the rest who are also scouring for Singapore price lists ^.^

Thank you very much! <3

Jill Stuart Lipstick in Baby Coral Review and Swatch

What Jill Stuart says:
Lipstick with light touch and pure color

That's it =p

I believe this line was one of the earlier once which doesn't have much product details as compared to the product line up that came out this year.
I got this from Bon of www.wehaveit43.multiply.com
You might want to check her out because she recently posted Smooth Silk Powder Foundation N and the Limited Edition Mix Blush inspired by the English gardens, I've seen a couple of LE mix blushes before and they were irresistible! My knees are getting weak and I'm lemming for the Smooth Silk Powder Foundation N and the LE Mix Blush...

Here comes the big Jill Stuart addict again to tempt me... =p

The shade I got is Baby Coral since Rosy Coral is considered limited edition in Taiwan
but I really wish I could get a Jill Stuart Rosy Coral too since Baby Coral is love ^.^

Here's hot it looks on top
If you'll take a look on how I handle the lipstick you'll notice that it's quite big for a lipstick.

Here's how it looks on the bottom
It has a crystal cut design and it can stand on it's own because of the flat surface
This is such a great display on your dresser.

Can I reiterate this is a jumbo lipstick? =p
Here's how Jill Stuart Baby Coral looks, the color looks dark and solid but since Jill Stuart cosmetics is a Japanese brand, like most Japanese lipsticks Jill Stuart is sheer and light but it still creates a nice overall finish or look which is great for those who love the no makeup look- it's not super pigmented and you won't look overdone.

I was surprised to see how wide the diameter is for a stick type lipstick, most stick type lipsticks are very thin as compared to this generously sized lipstick.

Here's a comparison of Jill Stuart, Shu Uemura and MAC lipsticks
It's a lot bigger in packaging and in grams!
Jill Stuart has 5 grams of lipstick
Shu Uemura has 3.7 grams
MAC has 3 grams
If I may add, Givenchy Rouge Interdit is at 3.5 grams

Jill Stuart Lipstick in Baby Coral Swatch

Baby Coral looks nude pink coral on my lips, it gave my overall look a nice healthy illusion of tan as compared to my other lipsticks that made me look whiter.

Texture wise it's very smooth and silky, there are no gritty glitters that would harm your delicate lips
I applied cleared lip balm underneath because I'm used to applying lip balms prior to lipstick application
This lasted me a good 4-5 hours with minimal eating but it's okay because retouching with this lipstick will make you feel princess-y.
For those who are used to American brands which usually has pigmented lipsticks you might need to reapply this several times if you want the color to pop out but in my experience and comparison, Japanese lipstick finish is just right and it's not overpowering. It makes you look as if you're naturally glowing from within.

Additional info:
Jill Stuart lippies also has the distinct Jill Stuart floral scent although the scent varies depending on the product. For liquid foundations, eyeshadows and other powder products the scent is stronger as opposed this lipstick's mild Jill Stuart scent; if my olfactory senses are correct there's a hint of yummy peach scent mixed along with the floral perfume which makes the lipstick tolerable.

Upcoming Reviews 2: Benefit 10, Jill Stuart Eye Jelly in Midnight Shine, Jill Stuart Lipstick in Baby Coral

Here are the stuffs I got from Bon of http://www.wehaveit43.multiply.com this Friday ^.^
I wanted to use all of these on my movie date with the boyfriend but I deliberately didn't so I could take snapshots for reviews coming up soon! I'll be taking photographs under natural light because artificial light doesn't do great for snapping make up photos.

Benefit 10 Bronzer and Highlighter
I've always wanted a bronzer and a highlighter but I'm not sure if I'm gonna use it regularly so I got this 2 in 1 product instead. The bronzer seems light enough for my pale skin.

Jill Stuart Eye Jelly in Midnight Shine
It's really really pretty... <3

Jill Stuart Lipstick in Baby Coral
This lipstick's is a whopping 5 grams from the average 3-4 grams...

Vivi Magazine March 2010 Taiwan Edition
It's in Chinese! Hurrah! I can read it now!!! ^.^

Now this Jill Stuart make up box is a pleasant surprise from Bon! ^.^
I remember Bon telling me she was pleasantly surprised to see I've been blogging about her online shop for a while so she decided to send me a gift, I didn't know it would be shipped right away with this purchase.
This will now house all my Jill Stuart stuffs- I didn't realize I've accumulated so much already, haha!

I didn't expect another gift twice in a row this week. My suki buyer and friend Sienna told me it must be good karma. Thank God for the gifts! ^.^

Let us always remember to praise God for the material gift and more importatnly, the gift of goodness we receive from the people around us. =)

Coming Soon on Maquillage Lover: More Jill Stuart, Benefit and Vivi March 2010

It's another Jill Stuart Haul!
I'm really having a mini Jill Stuart counter here at home...
I don't know why but I'm really hooked on Jill Stuart

So...
I'm getting the following:
Jill Stuart lipstick in Baby Coral
I was actually lemming for the Rosy Coral but Taiwan's Rosy Coral is limited edition ='(
Anyway, there will be a whole lot of rosy coral lippies coming in my life
I'm also getting Jill Stuart Eye Jelly in Midnight Shine
It's not the Midnight shine on the photo though
Jill Stuart is very famous for it's eye jelly and I ought to try one!
It's not Jill Stuart though, this is Benefit 10- a bronzer and highlighter in one
I don't own any bronzer or highlighter so this is a perfect package for me
The bronzer seems light enough that it won't look harsh on my pale skin

Last but not the least, another Vivi magazine!
This time it's gonna be the Chinese version so I could read it.
Koda Kumi looks very alluring!

All these purchases made possible by Bon
Gosh, I don't know how much I've spent on shopping at Bon's online shop since August 2009 but every cent is worth it.
Her prices are a whole lot cheaper so I can stretch my Philippine Peso and I won't have to beat the traffic going to the malls just to buy make up. The best thing is, the boxes are delivered to a place very near to mine's! <3
You may reach Bon at http://www.wehaveit43.multiply.com
I swear, she's the best!

What's Inside Jill Stuart News 2010

Bon sent me this along with my Jill Stuart haul.
How thoughtful of her! ^.^ She knows how much I love lurking on Jill Stuart's website to check out new stuffs to hoard but my problem is that the internet sucks so it takes a while to load the website.
So she shipped this out along with my first Jill Stuart haul so I could just browse through in the catalog instead of waiting a great deal of time just waiting for the site to load.

I'd like to share this catalog with you especially those Jill Stuart fanatics in the Philippines
This is a labor of love since I squeezed the whole catalog into our new scanner printer in one (it almost chewed the catalog in the rollers huhu)

*click on the photos to enlarge*

I want another Jewel Crystal Eyes in Ruby!
And Dazzling Moon...
And Eye Jelly in Platinum Satin...
And Midnight Shine...

I want Mix Blush in Little Bouquet
Fresh Apricot
Fairy Rose
*uh oh this is the start of the blush phase!*

I also want Jill Stuart lipstick in Rosy Coral
I want to sneak some lip gloss too but all these lemmings are already making me feel so guilty...

I don't like nail polish since it smells bad, it chips easily and I feel like my nails can't breathe...
But lovely shade Sweet Syrup is luring me to get one!
Thank God I got their great foundation already...

Whew! I'm clear in this category =p no wallet burning lemming in this page

Nada! Not here too =p I got the Day Care Essence already...
the lemmings mentioned above are all wallet burning enough for me...Haha!

I'm not done yet!
I recently saw Haru's post on Jill Stuart Smooth Silk Powder Foundation N

Ah... I've been waiting for this since I am planning to get this once my current Kanebo powder foundie is finished... <3

Graduation Came

At laaast!!! After almost four years of studying at De La Salle University-Manila
Graduation came...
It was a bittersweet moment for all of us
We're happy that we're done and we're ready to embark to the next journey of our lives
We're sad that we won't be seeing each other often.

I'm glad I graduated with my close friend and block mate Abi
I'm sad I didn't graduate with my other block mates and friends (same sentiment with Abi haha)
But at least we got through college together though we're colleges apart.

Fixing my tassel in this pic, I think =p I just had this funny expression haha

When: Feb 6, 2010
