Brush Guard Review Part 2

This is a continuation of my post last November 3, 2009 =p
I first acquired The Brush Guard around that time for Php375 if I'm not mistaken.

I also promised to make a review once my MAC 187 comes here but boo hoo! I almost forgot about it!
My MAC brush collection grew a bit and I acquired 188 and 227 but still I forgot to make the review.

So here it is now with my long overdue part 2 review of The Brush Guard.

Brush Guard on MAC 187

I love how it shapes up for brushes and whenever you take the Brush Guard off you'll notice a big difference because the bristles are placed in line.
I use the largest size for protecting my 187 and it fits well.

Brush Guard on MAC 188

I used the 2nd largest size for my MAC 188 and it still fits well.

However, I don't like doing what The Brush Guard suggests- leaving the brush vertically down when drying it up because the gravity pulls the brush down and some of the bristles tend to tangle and slip out of the holes- leaving you with buhaghag bristles. I thought I'd never reshape my brushes back but it regained back it's old shape after lying them flat down for storage.

Another thing you have to pay close attention to is the rough edges of the Brush Guard; if you don't want to scratch your precious and expensive brushes you ought to be careful when inserting your bristles and handle in this one.

Nevertheless I still love The Brush Guard because it does it's job well on keeping the brush in tip top shape. You just have to learn how to use this carefully so it will bring your brushes more pros than cons.

Another thing though, when I first saw The Brush Guard on the internet I thought it was cylindrical in shape once you expand it but nope it's not. But that's fine by me because my MAC brushes are shaped up okay still.
