I'll first review my Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Lipstick in PK 308.
I bought this at Dior Co's Beauty Luxe Sale for Php780 (mall price is Php1350 if I'm not mistaken)
At first glance, the color is in the middle of nude pink and hot pink; it's quite muted but it's almost there to shout HOT PINK.
The packaging is quite heavy duty for me; although a lot criticizes the packaging because it looks cheap due to the clear acrylic plastic the lipstick is encased in; for me it actually has a heavy and sturdy feel when I grasp it in my hands and the swivel mechanism is not flimsy at all, the lipstick swivels smoothly and you can feel that it has a tight grasp on the tube.
I love that Shu Uemura lipsticks don't have any wax feel on my lips, it glides on smoothly even if you don't put on lipbalm; the formula is feather light and smooth. However if you have very dry lips like mine the moisturizing effect of this lipstick wouldn't be sufficient so you can top it off with a coat of clear gloss to moisturize your lips even more.
The color glides on evenly and this is quite sheer so it adjusts to the color of your lips; this effect can be seen especially on natural light set ups but when you place yourself under a flourescent light the pink pigment comes out beautifully. The color on my lips is a beautiful shade of baby pink; it looks quite natural and yet at the same time it's a toned up shade of pink so this is great for times that you feel you want to have the nude look but you still want a slight pop of color.
The lip swatch is quite light and washed out but expect more pink hues to pop out when you try this one in actual.
When I'm in a hurry I usually reach out for this lipstick because just I just have to swipe it a few times on my lips, add a top coat of Shiseido PN Primalise gloss and I'm good to go. As for the staying power, I haven't encountered any lipgloss or lipstick that stays put on me the whole day so I usually touch up every 4 hours maximum; why four hours? Because I eat haha. This one is no exception, it stays put as long as I do not eat but I do appreciate that there's a hint of color even if I finish eating and when I look in the mirror I still have a faint pink hue on my lips as opposed to other lip products that would be gone along with my food by the time I finish eating.
This is quite easy to use and I don't need to use a lip brush to distribute the color evenly; Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited in RD 170 is a different story. =)
