Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden as Lip Concealer? See How it Looks!

Home sweet home! I'm back from Taiwan and I'm loving the sizzling Philippine heat again!
Taiwan's weather was cold; the lowest was around 13 degrees Celcius with strong winds and rain (the day we left) but I made it due to my handy dandy and thin Uniqlo fleece jacket; it does wonders- it's light and thinner than the average jacket but the cold wind would not seep through so you don't have to wrap yourself in thick feather stuffed coats; it reminds me the much sought after cashmere clothings but it's the cheaper version, but hey, whatever works should do fine. However, I still did try lugging thick feather stuffed coats with faux fur trimmings just to get  the experience because we don't have harsh cold weather in the Philippines.

Anyway, let's get back to the real deal.
Have you though about using Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden as a lip concealer or neutralizer?
I tried doing an experiment to see if this is possible, sometimes I think UDPP in Eden can also be used as a concealer for those skin tones that can match the yellow-ness of this primer.

I figured out why not try to use this as a lip concealer and primer at the same time?
UDPP in Eden is creamy enough to spread around my lip area.

Let's see the results of my lil experiment:
Here's how my lips look bare, I just dabbed a bit of Carmex lip balm on the center to prevent drying since I have ridiculously dry lips.

Here's how my lips look with Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden

It's a pretty cool lip concealer right? It hid my lip pigmentation drastically! It creates a good clean canvass. It also saves me some moolah from buying a separate lip concealer too!
Once dry, it will feel tacky on the lips, it reminds me of MAC's prep+prime lip primer.
Because it is tacky, t's quite hard to distribute lipstick color if you apply the lipstick tube directly to your lips but with the aid of a lip brush the color would spread out easily.

I don't suggest applying lip balm on top because once you start applying your lipstick the beige color will mix with your lipstick pigment and it will change your lipstick color.
I suggest applying lip balm underneath UDPP in Eden ^.^

Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows is Love!

Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland front view

What Urban Decay says:
Created exclusively for Tim Burton's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, this project was a (slightly hallucinogenic) dream come true. Our 16 inspired by tiny Alice's journey through the mushroom forest... a "curiouser and curiouser" hike through twisted vines and skyscraping toadstools.

Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland back view

Ooh... I'm so tempted to use this already but I still have the Book of Shadows 2. You see, I'm trying to discipline myself and try to use my Book of Shadows 2 first and hopefully I'll be able make it halfway through before dipping my brush on the Alice in Wonderland.

I know you've probably seen UD Alice in Wonderland palette on a lot of blogs with great swatches so I won't be posting the swatches in this post- but as you know I like doing thorough reviews of my eye shadows one by one so there will be swatches in the future.

I'm just going to enjoy posting the pop up photos and close up photos of each eyeshadow. I love UD eyeshadows because colors aren't so dupeable, it's pigment heaven, the palette has the right combination of neutral colors and colorful ones which is great for work and for going out.

My camera phone is love and if you'll scroll below you'll see it takes clear close up photos too as long as you have trained steady hands but nothing beats SLRs and these are the times when I'm into the photography mood but I can't seem to get the right color saturation, composition and vividness of the photos. Well, I still have my sturdy and beloved Nikon FM10 Analog SLR and it takes great photos, colored or black and white (and even better than DSLRs) but it's quite expensive to sustain film photography (even more expensive than buying a DSLR) so it's impractical to take blog photos with Nikon FM10.

Analog SLRs phased out not because of the old technology but because it's very expensive to sustain film photography but if you get the resources and equipments to try it; I encourage you to do so because it's fun and it disciplines you to take great photos. It's just hard to scour for photo papers but if you do so it's gonna be expensive. I think I spend a couple of thousand bucks for photo papers alone, black and white films costs P200 a roll. But of course a person who just want to take simple photos just for the heck of it would opt to get a simple point and shoot camera, different strokes for different folks. Passionate photographers will spend and scour the busy streets of Hidalgo for the love of photography- just like for the love of make-up!

Anyway, so much for photography talk ^.^
Let's go ooh and aah with the Alice in Wonderland palette!

I love the tea cup pattern!

Here's the top view where you can see how the pop ups are connected

Front view- there's a mirror but I concealed the reflection with a white paper to make the photo's composition clean.

I wanna try Drink Me and Eat Me too!

Alice looking at Absolem
I can still remember the original Absolem <3

The palette

Such a pretty hue of violet- and I love violet eye shadows!
This reminds me of Stila Smudge Pot in Violet but they're different shades of purple.
Underland is also known as Flash

my cousin Shirley's husband calls this the Avatar make up! Hahaha
Oh before I forget, I wouldn't get Alice in Wonderland without Shirley's help, you may check her out at www.msroughette.blogspot.com
I've never wore such a bright blue before but I'm up for the challenge!
Alice is also known as Painkiller

Oraculum is also known as Baked
Half Baked is one of my favorite gold eye shadows
However when I was comparing it to Half Baked it almost looks the same! <3

Queen is also known as Last Call
I love the reddish purple hue! It looks darker and redder in real life.

Chessur is also known as Chopper
I want a smiling, floating and evaporating cat like Chessur!

White Rabbit is also known as Polyester Bride
It's the classic white eyeshadow with a twist! There's tons of glitter in it.

Wonderland is known as Mauwi Wowie
I can't seem to describe the shade properly...

Curiouser is also known as Grifter
This reminds me of my Jill Stuart Princess Sapphire Palette but the purple hue is stronger with Urban Decay.

This is one shade I'd very much love to try
Muchness is also known as X

Mushroom is well, known as Mushroom =p
It's a beautiful taupe color that's also in my Book of Shadows 2

Midnight Tea Party is the fab Midnight Cowboy Rides Again
It's glitter mania but I've learned to control the glitters
Check my previous post here

Vorpal is also known as S&M
Such a pretty gray color...

Absolem is also known as Homegrown
Homegrown is one of my favorite green eyeshadows
Green eye shadows tend to make my brown eyes look warmer
Pair this with Baked or Half Baked and it will look amazing!

Drink Me, Eat Me is Sin!
I learned of Sin when it came out as another version of Urban Decay Primer Potion
Hope this champagne color won't make my eyes puffy!

Mad Hatter is Twice Baked
This is brown with glitter flecks on it, I've also been using this from my Book of Shadows 2 for neutral days.

Jabberwocky is also known as Oil Slick
It's the classic black eye shadow infused with glitters!

Here are the two eyeliners, I already have the black eyeliner called Zero
I also have the Flipside in eye shadow form but I don't have it in eye liner form so this is interesting!

Another UDPP baby! ^.^

Here's my real baby sleeping with my hotdog pillow as I type away <3 such an adorable sweet little dog.

Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden Review and Swatches

What Urban Decay says:
Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Eden
What it is:
An eye prep product that provides smoother, longer-lasting, and absolutely crease-proof eyeshadow—and is now offered in a very-wearable, tawny, matte hue.

UDPP box side view- cute pattern!

What it does:
Eyeshadow Primer Potions from Urban Decay are unmatched in the beauty industry! The genie in these bottles fulfills three wishes: eyeshadow that lasts, more vibrant and lasting color, and absolutely NO creasing. Apply Primer Potion to lids before shadow application and it dries down almost instantly, creating smooth lids that are super-powered eyeshadow magnets. Urban Decay offers several unique shades in their Eyeshadow Primer Potions, but all boast the same unbelievable function. Eden is a matte-finish, tawny hue and gives you a stunning "no makeup" look when worn alone or complements other eyeshadows worn in combination. Packaged in a pretty genie bottle, all these Potions are applied with a magic wand and flocked applicator.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances

My Review:
Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original has always been a staple in my dresser, the humid Philippine weather will definitely make your eye shadow crease so a powerful eye shadow primer is a must to prevent creasing.
I thought UDPP in Original was one of the best eye primer there is around but Eden came and changed that view point.

UDPP in Eden's packaging is not so attractive as compared to the metallic finish Original and Sin has but these are the times when we need to be reminded not to judge a book by it's cover- or in this case, don't judge the potion by it's packaging. The packaging is in rubbery matte finish, this could be a dirt magnet so I'm still housing it in it's box as my OC self tells me to do so.

UDPP in Eden has the relatively new doe foot applicator because there are a lot of complaints that the packaging doesn't really help us get the most of the product.

Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden Swatch

Consistency wise, UDPP in Eden is more creamy and yet when it dries it's a whole lot tackier than UDPP in Original so eye shadow really sticks and it won't be easily rubbed off. I'm really surprised to be impressed with primer potions again. Urban Decay has outdone itself!

The primer potion doesn't dry quickly so you could blend it until you're satisfied.
Warning though, a little goes a long way so two tiny dots for chinky eyes would be enough, it's super creamy that it distributes easily and evenly. When it dries, that's it- it's tacky enough to hold eye shadows for a long long time. I tried rubbing it off under running water but it's not doing the trick. I tried rubbing it off with tissue but it's not coming off. I found another Holy Grail!

I love how you see an eyeshadow color on the palette looks color-accurate on your lids when you use Eden.
I've used Urban Decay eye shadows for all of these:
left Half Baked
middle Jinx
right Homegrown

My usual problem before was that whenever I use Half Baked it looks so yellowish to me but now it looks as bronze-gold as ever. I love it!

Sadly, as of now UDPP in Eden is not available in the Philippines along with the entire Urban Decay product line up, the nearest place to go is Singapore.

I got my UDPP in Eden courtesy of my cousin Shirley of www.msroughette.blogspot.com
Please do check her out as she's starting with her online shop and she imports internationally, I got my UDPP Eden on time via sea freight and she ships everything securely- when I opened the package there were lots of bubble wraps, styro lining and a smaller Sephora box- everything came safe and sound.

Upcoming Reviews: Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland, Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden and Kirkland Brush Set

Whew! I've been very busy this week, order payments are all coming in so I'm in a rush to deliver 'em all.
My customers have waited for almost a month so it's my obligation to be as quick and efficient delivering the goods to courier pick up centers plus the heat is making me really really weak (heat stroke) so I try to stay away from computers to avoid additional heat near me.

But once I get the time I'll be reviewing these babies up:
Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows
Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden-woohoo! It has arrived the Philippine shores!
Kirkland Signature by Borghese Brush Set

I decided to get the Alice in Wonderland with a cracked plastic case, all the other Alice in Wonderland sets' plastics are in tip top condition. I didn't finish with a Business Management degree but it's good to be ethical- give the best packaging possible to the customers never mind even if it's just a mere plastic that's cracked, yes?

I'm taking this time to thank my second cousin who assisted me for everything- waiting until dawn just to be the first Sephora customer the day Alice in Wonderland is being released via phone orders, packing these up and doing all the driving and other miscellaneous expenses in the US. you may visit her at

P.S. She's in a generous mood these days so if you want designer bags for less, go to her blogspot, add her up as a friend and follow her, when you want to purchase, she'll give you discounts for simply adding her up! ^.^

Where I've Been to These Past Few Days

Wooh! It's been very hot and humid these past few days. Sometimes it's not the heat that's bothersome but the high humidity level we have here in the Philippines that's unhealthy and uncomfortable.

We went somewhere very near to the beach in Subic but we didn't get to go to the beach, it did brought me to tears because the last time I went to the beach was more than 10 years ago.

We had to cancel it so we would make it to the US warship tour (which doesn't interest me) but invitation to highly restricted areas comes once or twice in a lifetime.
We aren't really allowed to take photos but one of the head gave us the liberty to do so.
I have a lot more photos but as courtesy I'd restrict releasing so much especially those taken inside the captain's room and other control rooms which are awesome! That's all I can say. My lips are sealed =p

But I think these harmless fun facts won't hurt:
It's like a whole new city inside, you'll get lost very easily.
They have a nice hospital inside complete with ICU section
They also have morgues inside, it's creepy but I think it's very very cool and considerate because I get the point if you're away for months from the land and you suddenly die, they give due care and respect to the dead who did great service to their country.
They have a library and computer room where the crew can use the computers to get in touch with their loved ones.
They have barbershops too, but I wonder if there's a salon for the women because I saw a lot of women too.
They have Vendo machines but you have to use an issued card in order to buy- meaning no outsiders could get to use the Vendo.
What's cool is that their Vendo sells everything from chips to toothbrush but of course these are in separate Vendo machines.
They get TV signals especially the Manny Pacquiao fights in live streaming.
Food and drinks are great- The head was hospitable and we were invited to eat and drink to get the experience of being part of the US Navy but we didn't get a lot since we're not really doing anything to benefit from the US taxpayers' money. I see how Philippine politicians pocket the taxpayers' money without doing much service to the county and how we taxpayers suffer so it's not right to do it to other people when you know how it feels to be robbed.

I love the trip but I would love to go to the beach, still.
I didn't get to put on make up that day because I thought we were going to the beach when they canceled it when we're leaving the house. Good thing I brought my Jill Stuart Day Care Essence with SPF30, Kanebo powder, Clinique lipgloss and Kiehl's lipbalm so I'm pretty much all set.

*****
LBC shipment has arrived last Monday! ^.^ Another reason for being busy sending packages.

I've been double wrapping everything especially Alice in Wonderland because I want them to arrive in the safest condition possible. I enjoyed wrapping one in bubble wrap because it's so plump you can already use it as a pillow :)) You almost can't see through due to the layers of bubble wrap and extra styro lining inside.

This package has arrived just tonight to it's lucky and nice owner in Baguio City ^.^

Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland & Kirkland Brush Set Delivery Updates

Hurrah for LBC's efficient customer care service! I emailed last night after waiting until 10pm (because for some reason couriers do arrive in my place around that time especially if there's a lot of packages to be delivered- such efficient people working at that time!)

Hopefully it would get here soon ^.^ I'm so so so excited to deliver all the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland sets and Kirkland brush sets!

Urban Decay Eye Shadow in AC/DC

Honestly, I'm getting anxious with the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland package. I'm expecting it on March 4 but with the earthquake and tsunami warnings, it would be understandable if there would be delays on the sea freight cargo. I'm still crossing my fingers it would arrive on time!

Still, my prayers go to Chile, no amount of make-up shipment delays is worth complaining about when people are suffering on the other side of the globe.

For now I'd like to make a review on an Urban Decay eyeshadow in AC/DC to ease my anxiety.

Urban Decay AC/DC eye shadow swatch

AC/DC is described as rich eggplant shade with silver microglitter.

However, I'd like to revise the word 'microglitter' and make it into 'shimmer' instead. I can't see specks of microglitter but the shimmer is attractive and it makes the eye shadow color look more alive.

I always use a brush in doing my swatches because it will be more accurate this way. Using my fingertips and swiping the color on my skin would create another finish.

On the pan it looks quite a good purple hue but upon swatching on my skin it looks taupe-ish/greyish with a tinge of purple. It looks very pretty. It reminds me of Jill Stuart Eye Jelly in Crystal Sky but of course I'm not sure about the accuracy because I don't have Jill Stuart Eye Jelly in Crystal Sky.

The texture is very smooth and silky like most Urban Decay eye shadows; what I'm surprised with is that it is pigmented on it's own- even without the aid of foiling. It goes on smoothly and adheres to your skin effortlessly.

It is beautiful on its own but like my previous methods in applying Urban Decay eye shadows, I still believe it looks better with foiling if you'd like a bolder look.

I'm also amazed that this sticks to my skin for a long period of time; of course there's a bit of creasing even with UDPP but hey we're living in a tropical and humid country so it's understandable =p
