Look how thin my BRTC BB Cream is!

Hurrah! I'm quite proud of myself I'm taking full responsibility to finish up make-up products before buying another one.

Before when I was young I used to hoard and when I'm bored with one I'll set it aside until it expires. When I will try to compute the amount I did not consume, it does make me feel I'm irresponsible to set aside an expensive product and let it expire even if the products are good enough for me. I just feel bored about using the same product over and over again.

Now that I am older I realized there is a lot of money spent on products and I should use it until it runs out before buying another one. I am very terrible at finishing up products except for lip balms and lip gloss, I think I'm eating it than applying it on my lips! haha.

Purchasing make-up is like a marriage, you should stick to it through thick and thin, until death do you part (or in this case until it runs out)

On my previous post on I used on L'oreal's True Blend Foundation I have been using it daily and yet I can barely finish a 30 ml tube within a year, well the reason is that the foundation is quite pigmented so a little goes a long way.

I have been using the BRTC BB cream for four months and I'm about to finish it! Hurrah! ^.^

My next foundation would be Paul and Joe Light Cream Foundation S, I'm looking forward to it! =)

Wedding Reception Look

Tonight we went to a client's wedding and lucky for a slowpoke like me I had the time during the day to prepare.
I used to curl my hair on a daily basis with a curling iron, I know that's bad so I stopped so I had a bit of difficulty now doing my hair, but I still did!

I don't know why but the camera just doesn't want to show the eyeshadow I have on; all the color is very pale and washed out, I was using Shu Uemura RD 165 lipstick (and it's a MAC Red lipstick dupe) and yet it still looks so pale in the pic. Haha!

Here's a run down of the products I've used:

Face:
BRTC BB cream
Kanebo Media powder
Shu Uemura Pro Cealer in 3 YR Medium Light

Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
MAC eyeshadow in Amberlights
The Face Shop eyeshadow in Dusty Peach
MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus Mascara

Cheeks:
L'oreal Blush Deliceux in Fresh Papaya

Lips:
Kiehl's Lip balm # 1
Shu Uemura lipstick RD 165

Hair:
L'oreal Studio HotCurl Curling Spray
Citre Shine Highly Laminating Lacquer Spray

BRTC Glossy BB Cream

I purchased a trial version of this from Airvony. I got a set of 6 for P100 and it already includes the shipment from Taiwan to the Philippines. Sweet! =)

For a set of 6 of BRTC BB Cream samples I got:
1.      Gold Caviar
2.      Glossy
3.      Glossy Shining
4.      Perfect Protect 46
5.      Whitening and Wrinkle Repair (Which I’ve got in a full tube)
6.      Perfect Recover Balm

I actually bought 3 sets of these babies because I thought a 2ml sachet would not be enough but I was wrong haha, a sachet would last you for two to three times of application for the whole face. I finished mine on the second time but I squeezed too hard and a lot of product came out and I can’t shove it in the sachet again.

What BRTC Says:
BRTC Glossy BB Cream a luxurious cream with fine sparkling pearls to make your skin tone radiant and youthful. It not only improves uneven skin tone but also has whitening and wrinkle repair functions while rejuvenates and moisturizes the skin.
Main Ingredients:
Centella Asiatica Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Melia Azadirachta Extract ,Platycodon Grandiflorum Root Extract, Polygala Tenuifolia Root Extract, green tea extract, Allantoin, Tocopheryl Acetate

My Review:
This is liquid like and very light compared to the Whitening and Wrinkle Repair BB cream, the scent is also lighter and I have ease in applying this all over my face because of its consistency. It also has a luminous finish so this is great for those who like a dewy look.

On my first day of using this, the temperature was very high and of course my face became oily and it was the first time that my face became a reflector hahaha! I’m shining! It was really shiny so I took an oil blotting paper out to wipe away the shine. If you’re living in a hot place and your face usually oils up then I recommend you retouch with powder when you’re using this or else your face would really shine.

This also makes my make-up last longer and I would love to replace my Whitening and Wrinkle Repair with this one but sadly this broke me out. I had a bit of break outs on my first day of road testing then on the second day I had big zits coming out. I guess I am lucky to blindly pick a full tube of Whitening and Wrinkle Repair and it works great on my skin; I used this bb cream again to combat the damage the Glossy variant caused and it dried my pimples up quickly.

Do I want to test out the other BB creams or am I afraid to have break outs again? Hmm…

My BRTC BB Cream bought from Taiwan is NOT fake (picture heavy)

Recently I read an online shop in Multiply saying that we should be warned about fake BB creams from Taiwan because BB creams come from Korea and not Taiwan. I'd like to commend the seller for putting out a public notice because it is hard to know these days if your beauty product is real or not especially if the price is very low (a good example is Mac Cosmetics).

However, I'd like to clear out that my Php900 BRTC BB Cream I bought from my suki seller based in Taiwan is NOT fake. BB creams can be bought in almost all Asian market and it is imported from Korea. This is the link of BRTC Taiwan's website and it will show you exactly the same tube I have: http://www.brtc.com.tw/html/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=ProtectionLine04&PreView=1

Honestly, right now if you go to www.brtc.com.tw the server is down But luckily I bookmarked the link so it still goes to the page where I found my BB Cream.

And I found another beauty blog by Ms. Jamilla and she has a photo of her BRTC BB cream box with the "Premium Quality" label: http://www.makeupforprofessionalasianwomen.com/2009/01/legere-white-multi-bb-and-brtc.html
special thanks to Ms. Jamilla for allowing me to post the link to her blog article! =)

Here at home my family watches Taiwanese channels and often I'd stumble upon shows advertising BB creams and the top two of the most popular and most advertised are BRTC and L'egere.

Another proof that my BB Cream is not fake is that I've been using it since August everyday and my skin has never been healthier than ever. When I went to Hongkong my father bought me pure crushed pearls mixed along with other Chinese herbal medicine to flush out the toxins in my weakened liver that causes my unhealthy complexion and I always had pimples all over. I drank it and it became effective until my body got used to it and I broke out again.

However when I combined the medicine with BRTC BB cream, the BB cream actually helped my skin become healthy again and it's more effective than the expensive crushed pearls I drink everyday. This quickly dries up my pimples and help maintain it that way. I still have small pimples but it goes away in one day or two.

here's an actual photo of my BB Cream

and yes it has the "Premium Quality" label printed on the box

The label written on the back of the tube

When I went to Taiwan, I found imported products are posted with a sticker with Chinese characters imprinted on them because most Taiwanese cannot read foreign languages such as the Korean language; I find this very consumer friendly for the Taiwanese market and again it doesn't entail that this is fake. Later on I'll show you some other products I've personally bought in Taiwan that are super cheap and has Chinese labels too.

I peeled the sticker off to show that beneath the Chinese characters are Korean characters so you don't have to worry if it's fake or not.

The list of ingredients are written on the sides:

Here are my other Taiwan goodies that are rock bottom prices but are authentic:

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea 100ml perfume and a free clutch bag (and green tea colored gloves but I lost it) all for NT$500+
A separate product I bought is the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea 500ml Shower Gel

I'll admit the clutch bag is made in China but it's not fake

I think we don't have this Elizabeth Arden shower gel here in the Philippines in this size, we only have the small trial sizes but this is also real and it costs me around NT$ 100-200 only

Again, this has the Chinese label in order for Taiwanese to understand the description of the product written in foreign languages

Here we could see certain labels that I think I myself wouldn't doubt if this is authentic or not.

Another bargain I got from Taiwan is this authentic Shiseido eye lash curler which I only bought for NT$150
My curler has a different packaging and it is made in Taiwan for the Taiwan market. I went to Shiseido in Rockwell and I saw the exact same thing, the difference is that the packaging here in the Philippines is much more fancy and curlers are much more thin; the metal is thinner compared to what I own.

Where do I buy all of these bargains? At Jmart; I found it in a quiet city away from Taipei where my aunt lives for more than 10 years already and she took me there and I went crazy looking at all the products because of it's marked down prices. Jmart is located in a wet market in the morning and it transforms into a night market in the evening.

Sure if you'll check mall prices you'll see more expensive prices for these products but in Jmart, I think they sell the excess products unsold at malls.

I bought this at Watson's in Taipei 101 Tower and it just costs NT$300+ as opposed to the Philippine mall price that could go at Php900+

So there you go, a lot of beauty products imported in Taiwan are really cheap compared to other Asian counties, I recently ordered Majolica Majorca in Taiwan and if you'll check the Majolica Majorca Taiwan website it shows that it just costs NT$320 but it doesn't mean it's fake just because Japan sells it for a higher price.

Hope this helps you re-think about cheap Taiwan beauty products. When we think of beauty products in the Asian Market, we think about Hongkong, Japan, Singapore and Korea but we don't usually think Taiwan sells products way cheaper but for me that's the beauty of the Taiwanese market; you don't have much competition so when you enter a beauty store, you can shop in peace and you can go wild not worrying if the product you're thinking to buy will go out of stock once you take a step out of the shop.

BRTC Whitening and Wrinkle Repair BB Cream

Wald got me a nice tube of BB cream for my birthday last August 1, 2009! Whoopee! this baby's online value goes up for around Php1400-Php1800 depending on the variant but we got this for Php900 at Wang Lai's Mart.

This bb cream is has whitening properties, I tried it as well because I needed some whitening to be done, I know there are some campaigns to discourage whitening among Filipinas but in Asia, most fair skinned girls use whitening products to even out their skin tone from constant exposure to the sun, I guess I'm a part of that since I have yellow undertones like most Asians.

The light scent is nice, smells like light floral, the consistency is creamy and not liquid though, it goes on smooth on the face but sometimes you need a bit of tugging when you want to even out the bb cream on your face, it also doesn't sit on your wrinkles unlike other liquid foundations. The shade is really dark but it adjusts perfectly to my skin tone after much blending to the face.

BRTC bb cream also gives your face a nice healthy glow, skin appears healthier, it has a dewy finish but I dust it off with powder coz it's quite sticky for our humid weather It's evening out my skin tone with the help of my Christian Dior Snow cream at night. This bb cream also has a strong pink undertone so when you blend it to fair skin tones it will give off a nice healthy pink glow. I always use this everyday to make my skin look less tired, when the weather is cold or cool you don't really need to dust this off with powder because it would not be so sticky anymore.

I really like this because my big pimples are flaking off every morning! with constant dabbing of Neutrogena Vanishing Cream at night.

Since this is called a blemish balm cream, I'm trying this on my scars and marks acquired from my painful boils war, I'm crossing my fingers it would lighten up the scar marks ^.^
